My thought was to put a faux heater vent right against the edge of the flooring closest to the door, then a gap wouldn't be obvious at all.

Couple things I noticed. Pvc being used is a no, too much flexing. Should use metal gas pipe or any solid pipe, you also need to check it with a level to make sure you have correct pitch and its level from one to the other because just tossing them in and screeding is crazy idc how close you think the base is. Once that black base was laid down, I could see the waviness of the base. Looked good at the end on video and you did compact it after but I could still tell it looked wavy in alot of areas, id love to see how it looks after 2-5 years. Im guessing you guys live by the “looks good from my house” phrase lol

Your paint job looks great to me! Honestly I would have been upset if my spouse had changed their mind as well, but glad to see you apologize to her! About 18 years ago my mother and I painted her house after my father had died, with two 1 1/2" brushes! No lie honest to gosh! Two coats of Kilz and two coats of paint, all by hand! I even took my daughters swing set and made it into scaffolding to paint from! It was brutal and took 3 months, every single day! Fast forward and it is time to paint it again only Mom has passed away and everyone in the family is busy and unable to help, they all however have an opinion on the color, which I am the one buying!!!! So, at least be comforted in the fact that you only have your wife to deal with and you own 2 sprayers!! Please pray for me, I am going to need it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gas struts and your done. The plank by the wall where the door open, should of been cut with a 45 angle so the edge of the door dont catch it. Otherwise, well done !

You forgot to mention be careful when you’re cutting sometimes electric cables or pipes run through the wall

as a trim guy it is priceless watching you install that door! you manage to turn 10 to 20mintes into two hours.

I get the theatrics aspect, but why not just grab a broom or stick or something and get those spider webs and stuff out the way. Would have only taken a few minutes and made the process a lot less frustrating.

Staple a fold of board coloured fabric folded into the hinge crease to fill / hide the gap + stops any draft.

Bro the reason it’s so expensive is because number the coating done is usually thicker number two flakes are covered from top to bottom number a top coat goes on it to protect even more number 4 not everyone’s concrete looks as nice as yours when you started lots of them have cracks pits etc that’s why it’s so expensive😂

Instead of side hinges. I would have used pivots on the narrow ends, so the long edge against the wall would drop down away from the board next to it.

You know you build and have great ideas but you should of kept the bed separate from the gamingand punishment not smart there, as many idea as you come up with this will make the kids very complacent at when its time for bed or being punished they will sneak onto the games like i mentioned not putting down the artistry work you do, just your judgment of how and what you were thinking!! Anyway NICE JOB ON THE CARPENTRY! PS IF you and your wife figured out how to separate bed/ punishment/ gaming last, good job other then that GOOD LUCK!!
